SMS

Text messages reach people that email does not. Appointment reminders, a note that results are ready, a win-back sequence: all of it lands better as a text. Setting SMS up gives your organization its own registered sending number, so reminders and sequences actually send and clients see a consistent number they can reply to.

In the United States, business texting requires registering the sender, a process called A2P 10DLC. Ready Practice handles the registration under its own carrier account; you supply your business details and choose a number.

Set it up

  1. Go to Settings → Messaging (SMS). Enter your business details as they appear on your registration documents: legal name, address, website and a contact. Carriers check these against public records, so accuracy matters more than speed.
  2. Choose a number: a new local number, or port a number you already own.
  3. Submit. Registration is reviewed by the carriers and can take several days. The page shows the status; once it reads Active, texts send.
Reminders do not send until registration is active

Until the carriers approve the registration, SMS reminders and sequences are held. Email reminders keep going in the meantime.

What sends by text

Appointment reminders and confirmations, results-ready notices, and any growth sequence step marked as SMS. Clients opt in the first time they are texted and can stop at any time; opt-outs are honoured automatically.
