Google Meet
If your organization lives in Google Workspace, Google Meet is the natural way to run remote visits. Connect it once and every remote appointment gets a Google Calendar event with a Meet link on the account you connected. The client is invited to the event, so the visit lands on their calendar too, with the link already in it.
This is the Google equivalent of the Zoom connection. Connect whichever your providers actually use; if both are connected, Zoom is used for new remote bookings.
Before you start
- You need the Admin role in Ready Practice.
- Sign in to the Google account that should own the calendar events. Events are created on that account's primary calendar, so a shared organization account keeps them out of one person's personal calendar.
- Know which services are remote. The Meet link is created only for services marked Remote.
Connect your Google account
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Google Meet card, which reads "Connect Google to auto-create Meet links for remote appointments". Click Connect.
- Google opens in a new tab. Choose the account and click Allow. Ready Practice asks for calendar access so it can create the event and the Meet link.
- Return to the Integrations page. The Google Meet card shows Connected, and remote bookings from now on get a calendar event with a Meet link.
What the client sees
When a remote service is booked, a calendar event is created on the connected account with the client as a guest. Google emails them the invite, and the Ready Practice confirmation carries the same link. On the day, both sides join from either place.
Because the event is a real calendar entry on the connected account, moving or cancelling the appointment in Ready Practice updates that event. Editing it directly in Google Calendar does not change the appointment here, so make changes in Ready Practice.
Verify it's working
Book a remote service for a test client. The appointment on your calendar shows a Join button, and the connected Google account has a new event with a Meet link and the client as a guest.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect on the Google Meet card. Existing events stay on your calendar; new remote bookings stop getting a link until you connect Google Meet or Zoom again.
Next steps
- Mark remote services: open Services & Plans and turn on Remote for each service delivered over video.
- Hide your own busy times: connect your personal calendar so clients cannot book over your other commitments.
