Junction Health (labs)
Lab work is where a lot of clinical time leaks: ordering through one portal, chasing the result in another, then typing values into the chart. Junction Health connects Ready Practice to a national lab network so a provider orders a panel from the client's Labs tab, the client goes to a draw site, and the results come back into the chart as structured values with reference ranges. Atlas can read them, trends draw themselves, and the client sees the same picture in their app.
Enabling it is one click for an administrator. Ready Practice sets up your organization's lab account behind the scenes.
Before you start
- You need the Admin role in Ready Practice.
- Lab ordering is available in the United States. A client needs a home address on file so the nearest draw sites can be found.
Enable lab ordering
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Junction Health card, which reads "Order lab tests and view results for patients". Click Enable.
- Ready Practice provisions your organization with Junction. The card shows Connected when ordering is ready; there is no separate account to create.
Order labs for a client
Open the client's record and go to the Labs tab. Choose Order labs, pick the panel or individual tests, and confirm. The client receives the requisition and instructions for the draw. When the lab reports, the results appear on the Labs tab and Atlas flags anything outside the reference range. The Labs page covers the whole flow, including uploaded PDFs and manual entry for results that come from elsewhere.
Once ordering is enabled, lab panels can also be offered in your shop so a client buys the panel and the order is created for them. See marketplace and shop.
Disable
Click Disable on the Junction Health card. Existing orders and results stay on client records; new orders cannot be placed until it is enabled again.
Next steps
- Read the results together: Labs explains reference ranges, organization benchmarks and trends.
- Ask Atlas about a result: say "what changed in Jordan's last two panels?" and Atlas compares them.
